Cachoeira was once considered the richest town in Brazil for
its sugar and tobacco plantations. Today it maintains its
colonial identity through its architecture. We will drive across
the peculiar bridge named Dom Jõao II, over the beautiful
Paraguaçu River, to São Felix. Here we will visit the famous
cigar factory and see the native women hand-roll this aromatic
cigars. Cachoeira is the center for the Candomble religion
and is also famous for its procession in August of the
Sisterhood of Boa Morte, granddaughters of slaves.
